About Me

WeddingSelfI was born and raised in central New York State, and relocated to Rochester in 2004. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Binghamton University, and a Master of Science degree from Syracuse University. Throughout my studies, work and life, I focus on assisting others with adapting to and celebrating life’s transitions. In my full-time professional job, I offer career counseling and coaching to students entering the adult phase of their lives, and also volunteer with a local organization focused on assisting people make the transition to parenthood. There is nothing more beautiful to me than looking into the eyes of someone joyfully entering a new phase of their life, whether that is embracing adulthood, entering a marriage union, welcoming a child, or moving into the wisdom filled later years. These life moments come with both stress and joy, and I hope to offer a warm, steady presence to those I assist.

Spiritual background and experience:

I was raised in a very eclectic household, and was exposed to Protestant, Jewish, Islamic and Druid principles and practices. Upon my emergence into adulthood, I decided to learn more about earth-based religions with a gender balanced representation of divinity. Through my studies in anthropology and comparative studies, I have come to respect and honor all religions, as well as those people that find spirituality in every day things. Love is universal, and to many people, God(dess) is love.

For these reasons, I offer both non-denominational, spiritual humanist and secular/civil ceremonies to my couples. I’m not in charge of your guest list, and you make the choice if you’d like to invite a Divine Being to your wedding. Should you like to include more traditional religious aspects in your ceremony, I will discuss options with you and possibly encourage you to include your family or friends of faith to add this dimension into your celebration.
